Bloom ࿔

Sri Lanka

AN IMMERSIVE RETREAT EXPERIENCE

A week in Sri Lanka where jungle and ocean hold the outer world, while we turn inward in a small intimate group: through yoga, breath, somatics, sound, ritual, movement & spacious integration. Bloom is a week of coming back to what is real. Not a yoga holiday, but an immersion and a deliberately crafted container for anyone who feels ready to slow down enough to actually feel, and steady enough to meet what’s underneath.

Bloom happens the way nature does: Layer by layer. Root before flower. Softening before opening. Truth before change.

This immersive retreat is a living arc: practice, integration, ritual, rest.

A small boat on rocky shoreline with a flag, life ring, and plants nearby. The boat has writing on the side that reads 'Blue Snorkeling' and other text.
A person riding a bicycle across railroad tracks in a rural area with lush green trees and small houses.

Who this is for?

We live in a culture that pulls our nervous system outward. Scrolling, answering, achieving. A steady stream of input. Subtle pressure to keep up. In that rhythm, responding becomes automatic… and listening grows quiet.

Bloom is for you if you’re ready to go beyond the surface: to be honest with yourself, to stay present and to commit to a week of intentional inner work, held with warmth, care, and community. It’s for the ones who don’t want “a break from life,” but a deeper relationship with it.

Here, the many layers of you are allowed to unfold: what you’ve been carrying, what you’ve been avoiding, what you’re ready to soften, what wants to be lived. We don’t force catharsis. We don’t chase breakthroughs. We create the conditions and we stay.

Bloom is for those who want to listen more deeply.

To feel what’s true in the body.
To meet the heart without rushing past it.
To let the inner world rearrange itself slowly, honestly in a circle that can hold it.

Close-up of tropical leaves with varied textures, some with broad smooth surfaces and others with fine ribbed patterns, in black and white.
Top view of a person holding a ceramic cup with purple flowers and yellow petals floating inside, sitting on a beige surface, with the person's curly hair and white clothing visible.
IMMERSIVE EXPERIENCE
A woman with long hair, sitting on the floor with her back to the camera, engaging in a practice involving various items laid out in front of her, in a bright, open space with large green tropical plants outside. The room has soft cushions and a relaxed atmosphere.

This week is built with intention and heart. Not a loose schedule of classes, but a sequence, an arc. A journey we’ve crafted for personal growth and honest transformation.

A group of people sitting cross-legged on the floor in a circle under a white wooden ceiling with hanging wicker lamps, surrounded by lush tropical foliage.
Person holding a red hibiscus flower in their hand, wearing a gold ring, with a beige and white background.
A person in light-colored clothing holding a pumpkin-shaped container, walking through a lush tropical garden with large green leaves and palm trees.
Multiple women standing in a row, dressed in colorful, flowing dresses, with some holding their hands in prayer or celebration, indoors with a large window and greenery outside.
A woman wearing traditional clothing holds a bundle of dried leaves or herbs, while a group of women sit nearby on a wooden bench outdoors surrounded by green trees. The women are barefoot and appear to be engaged in a cultural or spiritual activity.
A woman playing a small keyboard and a man playing a guitar, both sitting on a light-colored carpeted floor with tropical plants and trees in the background.
A man with short brown hair in a white shirt is offering a black and gold bowl to a woman with curly dark hair wearing a white dress, both sitting on the floor in a room with a large window showing a green garden outside. In the background, three women are sitting on a low platform, with two of them visible: one in a white top and one in a black dress.

A Space to Unfold

  • Curated Journey

Bloom is an immersion, not a holiday schedule. We move through a carefully crafted process where each day builds on the last: grounding, softening, opening, integration. Not to force transformation, but to create the conditions where what’s true can surface, be felt, and be met, layer by layer.

  • Embodied Practice

Practices that speak to the whole system: mind, body, nervous system, heart. Yoga and Somatics as inquiry and listening, Breath as regulation, Sound as re-organisation, Movement as release, held alongside Ritual & Ceremony as threshold spaces for letting go and remembering. Gentle enough to be safe. Deep enough to be real. Rooted in presence, not performance.

  • Expert Facilitation

Held by experienced facilitators who can hold depth with softness. We guide with discernment, inviting when it’s time, slowing when it’s needed, and leaving space when the body is speaking. You’ll be supported to stay with what’s here, safely and honestly, without pressure to move faster than your truth.

  • Held in Community

A supportive and intimate container to be witnessed and held. Less performing, more being. Community as medicine, connection is a core part of the process. Spacious time for reflection, silence, ocean walks, and integration, so insights don’t stay in the mind, they settle into your body and become lived.

Held in the lushness of Sri Lanka

Surrounded by tropical greenery, warm air & a sense of timeless calm that holds you throughout the experience. On the south coast, just a short distance from the buzz of Ahangama, yet far enough to feel a world away.

An aerial view of a small, curved sandy beach surrounded by lush green trees and palm trees, with a rocky jetty extending into the ocean on one side and crystal-clear water.

the Retreat Space

Nature provided the blueprint

“We wanted our space to be a silent rebellion against the modern minimalist movement which strips away feeling and cleanses history and artistry from the modern architectural landscape, not just in Sri Lanka but all over the world. We want this space to feel inherited, nostalgic and rich with texture, colour and feeling. This retreat space calms the nervous system, honours our natural rhythms and nourishes our earthy souls. “

This tropical farmhouse is built around nature, perched in the paddy fields with a panoramic 270* view that extends over a kilometre long where buffalo and peacocks roam.

Adorned with intentional design elements, where the walls blend in with the trees and every stone & doorway tells a unique tale… All materials have been reclaimed & recycled from around the island - allowing a piece of Sri Lanka’s history and character to feature in every corner. Just a short 10 minute ride to the nearest buzzing beach town of Ahangama in the South Coast of Sri lanka, deliberately positioned to embrace the quieter village life.

 FAQs

  • This retreat is designed as a deep, immersive experience, rather than a holiday with a few optional classes.

We place a strong emphasis on group energy, shared presence, and moving through the journey together. While there will be moments to rest and integrate, the invitation is to fully take part in the program and the collective experience.

If you’re feeling a genuine call to slow down, connect, and engage more deeply — both with yourself and within a group — this space will likely feel very supportive.

If you’re primarily looking for a more flexible, drop-in style retreat with lots of free time, this may not be the right fit.

  • Detailed travel information to Ahangama, including directions and recommended arrival times, will be shared with you after booking.

  • You’ll receive a full packing list after booking, but generally we recommend comfortable clothing, personal essentials, and anything that supports your practice.

As we are located in a local village in Sri Lanka, we encourage bringing light, modest clothing as a way of being respectful to the local culture and its Buddhist traditions.

your facilitators

Born from a shared devotion to honest practice and human connection, Jonny and Natalija gathered the threads of their work yoga, sound, and community — to weave Soulravel into being. Drawing on years of teaching, sound facilitation, and conscious community-building, they curate retreats, trainings, and workshops that are as practical as they are soulful—spaces where you can breathe, learn, and remember your own way home.

A man in a light-colored shirt and black pants standing against a large rock formation outdoors. The sky is cloudy.
  • Co-Founder Soulravel

Jonny has spent the past decade teaching yoga across retreats, festivals, and trainings worldwide. Raised in a musical family, he felt early on how sound can soothe, awaken, and mend. But the industry’s ego and burnout pulled him away from that truth. An injury—and the disorientation that followed brought him to yoga in 2009. As his body recovered, he felt something larger recalibrate: breath steadying mind, presence softening the edges of life. He knew he wanted to share that pathway with others.

Since then, Jonny has worked with many students and learned what the body keeps teaching: healing is personal. He brings clear anatomical understanding, but values curiosity over perfection, inviting people to explore, adapt, and trust their own pace. His gift is creating safe, unpressured rooms where emotions can move and expression feels welcome.

Music never left; it matured. Today Jonny weaves years of sonic training into sound healing journeys and facilitator trainings, offering sound not as performance but as medicine: predictable, grounded, and deeply human. With reverence for lineage and a light touch, he encourages a life lived bravely and kindly: meet fear with breath, forgive often, love without keeping score.

  • Co-Founder, Soulravel

Natalija is a yoga teacher (RYT+500) and certified sound practitioner whose work has always been guided by healing and human connection. Before teaching full-time, she spent years in social work, earning a Master’s degree and witnessing, up close, the resilience and tenderness of the human heart. Yoga arrived as devotion rather than hobby; it gave language to what she’d felt all along: practice can change how we relate and live.

After years of studying and teaching yoga, somatics opened a new chapter. It asked a different kind of question: not How does the pose look? but What do you feel? In many traditional classrooms, the space to truly sense: slowly, curiously, without performance can be missed. Natalija’s work leans intentionally shifted toward that space. She teaches people to meet sensation as information, to listen for the small yes/no in the body, and to let awareness, not ambition set the pace. Again and again, she’s seen how this shift unlocks regulation, softness, and real change.

In her classes, Natalija weaves the timeless threads of traditional teachings with somatic and embodiment practices that honor the body’s innate intelligence. Through movement & sound, she helps students attune to their inner landscape.

Music has always been the heartbeat of Natalija’s life. Drawn to the healing potential of sound, she studied instruments and ancient modalities in India alongside their modern applications. Crystal bowls, Himalayan bowls, harmonium, voice each became a way of offering medicine. Together with Jonny, she composes and plays improvised soundscapes, creating grounded, spacious fields where participants can truly receive.

What continues to inspire her is the simple courage people bring to practice, showing up as they are, again and again. Natalija’s work honors that courage with trauma-sensitive care and a steady invitation: listen deeply, move gently, and let compassion lead.

Her greatest joy is to walk beside others as they cultivate a practice that is holistic, human, and truly their own.
